I never knew that Pastor Alvin could sing like that and I was simply amazed; not only that David [I think he's the brother of Pastor Mitch] could even sing such a great melody too.

I should say, it's really by Christ's plan for me and my friend - CJ to be brought to New Life The Fort a couple of years ago coz if not we wouldn't be able to meet such awesome pastors!

SEOmoz, a great SEO resource, recently published an article by the team at Enquisite quantifying the effectiveness of SEO vs. PPC. The article details that organic results (SEO) are 8.5x more likely to be clicked on than paid search results. That's a large disparity and is likely attributed to searchers gradually learning the difference between organic and sponsored results, and recognizing that organic results are typically the more respected resource.

With the recent worldwide crisis and recession, oil price hike, increasing price of commodities in the market and with lost of jobs, I don't think someone would still afford to spend too much on anything. Well, for me not! Even if I'm running out of penny, I still find time to purchase things that I want. As they say, "buy the things you need but not the things you want". I hope I could live up to it.

Nowadays, wherein every penny counts, people are on the verge to choose to whom to give the penny, may it be on righteous way or may it be on something they would really want or need.

Few weeks back, when my boss and I are in the gasoline station to load my car. We saw a guy selling "Sampaguita". I was then sitting on the passenger side and this guy came in front of my shield. Since upon filling up the tank, my boss accidentally lowered my window and exposed me to the outside environment, then the engine turned off. I don't normally mingle nor look at strangers faces 'coz I was the type of human wherein I easily get feel bad on whatever status of those someone in front of me.

Then this guy came in front. Asking me to buy a piece of his "Sampaguita". Out of the nowhere, I said to this man. "No, thanks!". After few seconds, we're done filling up the tank and rushed my window to close. As I close my window, the man stood still with a good smile on his face. For me, it was the best smile I've ever seen from someone I don't know asking me to buy his stuffs. Then, the window went up and closed. Suddenly, the smile I saw went like into shutter, a really sad face on the man's previously smiling good face then he went out. For me, it was like the feeling of having the night passed by without someone buying his stuffs. He passed by the rear end of my car, then I urgently asked my boss to stop the car yet and shouted at the man to come back and buy his "sampaguita".

The man went back into place and I asked for the full amount of all "sampaguita". He said, "it's 55 pesos" and he'll give me one extra bundle since I purchased it in bulk. Though, I don't have the need to buy it in bulk and aside from the fact that I don't know where to place. I didn't have the second thoughts of buying it.

After buying it, the man went ahead of us and crossed the street. Holding the money I gave, I felt like something strange crossing down my spine that I helped someone who's really in need as I sensed it. We turned across the gas station and seeing the man crossing the street, holding and staring at the money I gave is like something that will bring food to his family's table and will survive the night. I don't easily get affected by such and I don't normally help out people in the streets 'coz I know majority of which will be used against into something like "drugs or bad habits". This time around, it's different and I'm glad that with the small amount I gave is so big enough for him to help his family survive the night.

That night, I have learned how to be grateful into small things that I haven and even if it that small, I am blessed.

The sampaguita I bought was placed into our altar 'coz I know I had helped someone though God's simplest way of testing my good heart.

I just now remembered a verse in the bible that "what I did to the least of my brothers is also what I am doing to Jesus". I hope I just helped Jesus' son through that simple way.

Tips on the disastrous Typhoon

The entire Metro Manila has not recovered yet from the typhoon "Ondoy" that recently hit the metro. As of this writing, the Super Typhoon "Pepeng" has reached the Philippines' area of responsibility and continuously affecting it's pathway.

I know that this is something that we really cannot avoid but there are various ways to be safe:

1. Pray: This is the most effective way to be safe. Ask help from God and protection from any calamities shall be done.

2. Save Food: Advises from different government agencies are always on the news. Better yet, make sure that you have enough food stored in your house.

3. Stay in the house: As much as possible, be still and stay away from going out the house. This could prevent you from harm such as flying roofs caused by typhoon's winds, fallen trees and posts

4. Stay on the highest level of the house: If your house has a second floor, make sure that you vacate the ground area and have all electrical appliances transferred on the second floor of your house specially if you knew that your area is prone to flood. If you don't have second floor, make sure that you packed the most necessary stuffs such as food and clothings in preparation for evacuation in case the water level goes up.

5. Don't stay in the flooded area: We don't know what in the flooded water. Just to be sure and to be safe from any illness specially leptospirosis, veer away from staying in the water.

6. Shut down circuits: Once the area is flooded and Meralco has not shut down yet the electricity. Do the initiatives to shut down the main circuit of your house to avoid electric shock.

Children's Party at age 28, A Good Event to Remember!

September 09, 2009 is a perfect number in the calendar stating 09/09/09. I never thought that this perfect number would also somehow made a perfect celebration for my birthday. The party started with a video caption of Ms Fatima, stating this factual scripts depicting the events happened to me in the past and my character as a whole, though done with a joke but I found it amazing. I'd like to share the script made by them....

"Aside from the trademark eyebrows, husky voice, punky hair and stocky built-body, Mac danced his way to the Versatile Actor Awards this year. He became the singular Best New Performer in 2009. With recognizable Best Action Performance in show such as "Patayin sa sindak si Carla (April 2009), Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan (with Lelli and Fats as the supporting actresses - scene taken in Op's Director's Room - July) and Tanging Yaman the Comedy Series (with Mentor Lelli - Mas Maganda Pa) he has indeed made a mark in the industry today.

In my seven years of working in this industry. I have said that I've met different personalities, either good attitude or bad attitude.

All I can say is just learn how to psychologize and you'll get in to their minds and know what's bothering them.

At times, there are people who get to listen to your advices and there are some who will listen but will just let it pass one ear to another. Unfortunately, I have met these people recently.

It is just recently when I realized that there are really people who are only showing you good manners but will stab your back once you turn around.

It is just recently when I noticed that beauty does not follow with good brains. Yes! you've read it right. Not all people who's beautiful outside do have good manners and brains. The ones that you knew are not the ones who will be at your side all the time in fact these are dangerous people who will just bite you and will ask to get your arm wherein which you have given your hand. I pity those and really pray for them hard that somehow it will take a long time for them to get Karmic Law.

Finally, a rest day on a holiday!

July 5, 2009 was the day wherein our President Gloria Arroyo declared a Non-Working Holiday. Though, it was declared to mourn and to honor the late President Cory Aquino, we took also an opportunity to de-stress after a long months of working.

First off, we stopped at Sir Ernie's house in Valle Verde 4. We took some pictures of the Management Team.

After several minutes of staying at Sir Ernie's house. We took a van ride to the Farm. It was almost two hours drive. Though, thinking it's butt painful ride, indeed turned out to be really lots of fun. From Ortigas area to the Farm, we were all laughing with jokes from Fatima and Lelli. Thanks to them that I was able to exercise my masseter and created a laugh line wrinkles!

Voila! We've reached the Farm at exactly 1:05pm.

The house used to be like "Bahay Kubo" and now it's like a bit modern now. We stayed at the second floor and the ground area is the "Kwadra" for different horses.

Be Careful with what You Eat at Tropical Hut

It was a fine day for me when I ordered Breakfast Meal at Tropical Hut in FTI Sunshine Mall. Whenever I ordered food for breakfast and I don't feel like eating in the Dining Area of the office I normally eat my food inside our office with dim light. I didn't know what has gotten my mind when I suddenly decided to eat my brekkie in the pantry where it is well lit.

I was then surprised upon going half way of my food when I noticed a tiny black thingy in my food. I thought of like it must be something like a stone in the rice or a pepper mixed with my food. Upon careful attention was given, I realized that it's beyond stone and pepper but a lady bug whom based from my analysis was already dead through the process of cooking.

To my fellow readers, I suggest that whenever you order something from any restaurant be vigilant enough to screen your food well because you may never know what's in stored for your food. Who knows? There might be some pest feasting on your food right before you know it?

To the staff in Tropical Hut at Sunshine Mall, FTI, be sure to serve the clean food and as well as maintaining cleanliness in your facility as it always where sickness normally comes from these days.

Hope this simple blog could cause awareness to my fellow colleagues.

Family and its meaning

As per Merriam and Webster, A "FAMILY" is a group of persons who form a household under one head which includes parents, brothers, sisters, servants, children and etc. In an office set up, these are workers, rank and file, supervisors, managers, and heads working as one and harmoniously.

Not just so recent, I was able to watch one of Beyonce's movies and the song struck me as the lyrics go by and I wanna share it to my readers. Hope it could bring good vibes to you as well.

In this recent times of crisis, war, political turmoil, world's leaders dying and oppression, let's spend a time to pray, look back in the past and analyze what went wrong. It is so sad to hear in the news that the world is going no where these days, countries getting in the wrong hand of their leaders and people using people to gain something out of it. Unfortunately, third world countries will always be third world if they don't survive these things.

All I can say now is to pause, reflect and retreat those events and make something good out of it, be different and make a change. The world needs change and indeed should start within ourselves.

May GOD bless the people who have a good heart to make a difference not only for their country but to the entire world.

It is recently that I have realized that life is too short to waste and time is always ticking and we cannot stop it. The change should start NOW.

Just look for the man in the mirror and make the change.

1986 was the year wherein Corazon "Cory" Aquino was elected as President of the Republic of the Philippines. She was the icon today of Democracy - Freedom from suffering. For me, she was a symbol for great faith, trust, bravery and democracy. I was not able to meet her personally but my full salute goes to her.

I'm giving this whole page and my day today to mourn and give THANKS for her good work not only for the Philippines but for the entire Filipinos.

We, Filipinos, are saddened by your death but looking on it on a brighter side, we know you are happy now in heaven in God's embrace.

A Close Encounter with none other than...LEA SALONGA

It was 31st of July 2009 when we attended the "Quick Change" by The Company and Jon Santos. The musical show went so fine! in fact, I really had a great time watching our locals performing. The show was filled with fun, laughter and dance. I even dance too! Can't you imagine that? It was my first time to attend such musical show with a stand-up comedian head by Jon Santos. Mind you, the show was so perfect for de-stressing and all. A good show for all stressed and worried people. I should say, I was able to de-stress and unwind even for two and a half hours. During the show, they're giving free CDs. Luckily, I was one of those who won. Thanks to the organizer!

After the show, we went out to get my free CD and for Sir CJ to buy "The Company" album. I guess, the luckiness I had today was twice unexpectedly! I was able to meet and greet the artists and of course my all time favorite singer...LEA SALONGA.

It was during my childhood days that I kept on hearing the name of Lea. It was during "Annie" when I first saw her performing and I get to know her more when she joined "Miss Saigon". From then, I've been hearing news about her in newspapers, television and in prime time news of how great she is. I was really struck and stunned by her when I saw her today. I just can't imagine myself getting nervous and almost not speaking at all when I met her face to face. Now I can this is really a chance of a lifetime since I wouldn't know if I'll be having another face to face encounter with her again. I thank God for giving me a chance to see her personally by chance.

I'm not really fascinated with celebrities but with her I wouldn't know why my thoughts changed. Maybe it is just because a childhood dream came true today and I guess I was just lucky today though.

I thank Lea Salonga for giving me an opportunity to have a picture taken and having me beside her. Wow! what a great experience to remember!

I may now say that dreams do come true! ... at all!

Be very careful...Be very scared with General Motors/ Chevrolet Cars

General Motors have been in the industry for years or even decades now. I was a little child when I kept hearing General Motors which is a prestige American car. Thinking about American Cars would mean precision, reliability, detailed - oriented and stronger car components and parts.

As of today, those thoughts were just market strategies. I bought my car last 10th of July 2009 and I am a living testimony of bad impressions with General Motors specifically Chevrolet. And yes! those allegations with Chevrolet Cars were true at all. My Car has not been with me for a month and yet I've experienced so much trouble. Really very inconvenient trouble I should say.

A/C has been replaced twice since it's not cooling properly. As per Chevrolet's advised there's only a loose part in the A/C tubing. But come to think of it, it's a BRAND NEW CAR!

Car's stroke is not well functioning which will take you several seconds before it gets back.

Doors specially knob can easily get pulled out. I mean the entire knob! That's what you call BRAND NEW??

and I'd like to believe those comments I've read regarding Chevrolet Cars will come true with my car in the next few years. I'm not being negative but I am anticipating it already since my car has not been with me for one month and yet I've already experienced tremendous problems. It's really a hassle...big hassle to buy Chevrolet.

I would say this is really a buyer's remorse that I am experiencing. Chevrolet is a big disappointment and definitely am frustrated.

Customer Service wise it's a so-so! but still cannot blame all the matters to them. I can say I've got good car agents namely, JR Sitjar, Kat San Juan, and Kath Panaligan who helped me all the way out.

General Motors' Cars specifically Chevrolet are not really worth buying for. NOT worth recommending! If you want to waste your money and use your time and effort to nothing? go to Chevrolet! If you're after with quality cars go with someone else. I would then recommend Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and the likes.

To my readers, just giving you a heads-up of real bad experience. I neither complain to you but giving you the idea of what's best for your money, if you want to value your money? go with someone else but not with GM-Chevrolet.

Trust No One when It comes to Chevy!

It was 10th of July 2009 when I bought my very first hard-earned car - Optra Wagon LS 1.6 VSi. I really like the car that is why I didn't wait long and in just one day after signing all documents from bank and the car dealer in Alabang. I have gotten it and drove it across the metro. Though, prior to getting it, I noticed some streaks on the emblem which I immediately informed my car agent (JR Sitjar) and he made a note on the form I signed. According to him, I'll be getting it fixed after a week since they still have to order the entire emblem together with the grill.

After a week of waiting, I went to Chevrolet Alabang. I drove almost two hours beating the traffic plus the heavy rains and flash flood. When I reached the place, it took me less than 10 minutes and was informed that they thought it was only the emblem that they'll be replacing and that they're not prepared yet with the grill,what da f*! I said to my mind. It was really a bad service. I spent time travelling, beating rain and flood but that what I received.

Since the car is new, I didn't remove yet some of the plastics inside, just for me to feel the newness of the car. It took me several days to remove it and to my surprise there were 3 scratches inside my meters. I immediately inform my agent regarding the latter. During that day, when I parked the car to a place where the dark is , just to be sure it was locked I tried to pull the knobs and to my biggest surprise I pulled out the entire knob of one of the doors. geezz...a big hassle! Another one, when we were on our way to Tagaytay, suddenly the A/C isn't working only to find out that there were leakages on the a/c area along the freon tube. I guess this is what you call, liabilities! geezz..it is a "brand new car".

Just yesterday, it was already fixed. Still, as of this writing, I'm waiting for my emblem.

All I can say is, After sales not good at Chevrolet. Once you've got it paid, agent(s) will be leaving you alone, almost not communicating. Car itself is not worth-having for, after all my desires of having a chevy. Fuel consumption is not good either. I spent more than a thousand pesos per week on fuel alone.

Having a chevy is not a luxurious thing, it's just a hassle and will cost a lot of inconveniences.

Not even worth recommending!

To my readers, just be sure that you get good cars, I suggest getting it from Toyota or Honda.

Tagaytay Adventure

It was 13th of July when we held our second Management Committee Meeting. Guess what? It's in Tagaytay. So fascinating! I love it. While on our way to the place from the office. It was very dark and heavy rains keep pouring in. Suddenly, my car's a/c didn't function well. Whatttttttt??? To cut it short, I have no choice but to bring it back to my car dealer - CHEVROLET. After an hour and a half, my car is fixed. We then went on going to the place. Tagaytay! here we come!!! Here's the picture of the Management Team.

When we reached Tagaytay, we roam around to find a better, quiet place to talk about things need to be changed in the Company and of course updating each other's Departments regarding achievements and accomplishments based from our last ManComm.

As we along the stretch of the highway, we were able to find a good resto to stop by and chill - "Leslie's". First off, we ordered food and had a great smok'o prior to the meeting and took some great pictures of ours.

Here are some of the food we ordered. It's pretty delicious. Stomach breaker I should say!

There's Bulalo, Grilled Pork Chop, Ensaladang Talong, and etc. It's fun and great to eat at Leslie's. After that, we took some good pictures of the environment. This is one of the pictures I like the most.

After eating, we started doin' our ManComm meeting and just right before we left the place. We took some chillin' pictures in the car.

A Lesson Learned

Madness...oh my madness...likely to be similar with the word "Angry". According to www.answers.com the word madness are the following:

1. Quality or state of being insane

2. Great Folly

3. Fury; Rage

4. Enthusiasm; Excitement

These are some of the words associated with the word "MADNESS".

In every man's life, you'll be encountering a time wherein you tend to get MAD. Mind you, being mad will not make you young and healthy thus adding wrinkles, it affects and will great affect your emotions for the day or even a week and definitely will lead into something serious such as stomach pain, dandruff, hair fall, and worst of all stroke due to too much rage shown.

I was once got mad and I learned my lesson not to. Besides, It is just me who's affected and instead of having a beautiful day I ended up having muscle cramps and sort of like that. I have also learned to ignore senseless people and people who have superficial intentions and have vest interests - you know who you are. At least somehow I have gotten someone's skin. Cheers to that!

I am a person wherein I hate = love surprises that's why I always see myself prepared all the time. Who knows? Surprises are just awaiting for me!

One thing I have learned the most is...

"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the fire and pour it with some water"

Business Process Outsourcing(BPO) has been the recent trends in the call center industry and other industry that it follows. KPO is currently emerging which is the next level of outsourcing. With the recent trends in the industry. Hourly model projects are almost depleting thereby projects that are left are pay per performance. There is a good and a bad side of this. For as long as the project is easy and the agents are good, PPF will always be on top of the game, however this may or may not cost a lot. With the emerging and not-so-affected call center industry, brokers are emerging as well. Mind you a lot of 'em! They serve as a third party communicator between center(s) and client(s). For almost seven (7) years in the call center industry I should say I have encountered a lot of people and its differences. Over the past 2 years I have encountered and looking forward to encounter new faces and had encountered different brokers too. There are good brokers which will really help the center(s) out to perform at its best but unfortunately there are some who do not and just after with the center's monetary property. There are some who will take some projects or refer some projects but will turn out having the center not getting paid the right way or worst is not to pay the center at all. These are some of the not-so-good experiences I have encountered over the last two years of dealing with in-differences and unfortunately they're roaming around the metro waiting for another person to victim.

One thing that I haven't put in mind is dealing with them and not learning. I hope this short experience of mine will serve as a lesson for those who run their own center and for those who are managing the center's clientele.

A Birthday post to my dear Friend - Meg!

It was in the year 1998 since I've met Melody Gay R. Villarosa - also known as MEG. Since then we became friends. We have circles of friends in college but up until now she's one of my dearest friends. Through thick and thin, Meg has been there for me. She has been so nice, so dear, so playful and so caring friends. In fact, she's also generous. There were times in the past that we don't have money to buy such as food...gimmicks...and etc she's the one who will take charge of anything.

She's been my shelter whenever I have problems and so she is to me. Really no dull moment to share with her. Aside from being a great friend, she's also a great sister, a daughter to her siblings and parents.

We've practically known each other for over a decade now and still counting. I offer this page for her on her most special day - her BIRTHDAY!

I do apologize for forgetting to greet you on your most special day but as they say, it is better to be late than never.

Meg, I know you've been a great friend to me, a great shock-absorber and a great adviser to all. If I'll be born again and ask to choose a friend - that would always be YOU!

Philippines is an archipelago comprises of 7,107 islands when low tide. It's a tropical country and has a conservative culture. Since, it is a tropical country it observes only two seasons - Wet and Dry.

Dry season is finally over (February - April/May). Here comes the Wet Season which lasts for a couple to several months. This is also the season wherein familys' are tied-up with each member since they are confined to their houses. A time to get bond and discuss family matters to almost nothing topics. A time to rejoice and cook favorite meals.

This is also a season wherein everybody must take good care of their health since there will be mosquitos scattered everywhere causing different diseases such as dengue, malaria and etc. So extra care must be in placed. Must-Haves for this season are:
1. Anti - mosquito lotions or repellants.
2. Rain gear e.g. umbrella or rain-coat.
3. Drier - to dry out wet clothes
4. Multi-Vitamins

And definitely not to forget the all time favorite filipino rainy dishes such as champorado, sopas, tuyo, noodle -soup and etc. yum! yum! Can wait no more to get home and experience these.

LA UNION - Thrilling Experience of a Lifetime

It was last April 8, 2009 when I had my first ever vacation in my two consecutive years of hardwork at i-Elev8. I must say, it was indeed fun and really remarkable. No worries of work, no phones ringing, no e-mails, none at all. 4 days of escapade to different places, different towns and different faces in La Union and in Baguio. Who will never forget our first stop at Hacienda Luisita wherein there's a relic of old train? plus the fact we had encountered those people doing their own version of "senakulo" somewhere in between Tarlac and Pangasinan.

We arrived in La Union past 8p.m. and the only light that helped us make through the dark road was the moon light. We unpacked our stuffs and proceeded to my Grandma's "renovated" old house. A different kind of breeze soothed us which indeed informed us that "it's really now that we are in La Union!".

The following day, we went along the hanging bridge, play and pose along the river bank, stroll around the corn fields. It was really so fun. Stress relieving! All I'm thinking way back then was "every second counts".

On our second day, my grandpa handed me a big papaya...really BIG and HEAVY!
Next, a different size of "Malunggay" plant faced me - so strange, so big round leaf! Thanks for this coz it filled our hungry tummy afterwards.

Good Friday when we went to Baguio. First stop? Venus Hotel! The place is nice and some kinda spooky for me then we rest. The next day, we went to Strawberry Farm, Mine's View Park, Rode a boat in the Lagoon Park, Dined-in in a nearby restau and went shopping for presents.

Indeed, Mother's Day is a day to really celebrate the hardships of our Mom. I just can't imagine how our Moms carried us to their womb for full nine months with extra care and passion. Something that money can't buy for.

Walking down the track of my childhood days, I may say I am not a perfect child to my parents. Just like any other kids - Stubborn, naughty and playful. Still, I was loved and still love by my parents and my second "parents" who raised me to where I am at now. Without them I do not think I could be able to finish my studies - complete my studies with flying colors, without them I do not think I could be able to behave and show the attitude I have the right now. I want to thank my mothers - Leonida Corpuz-Herman and Sotera Corpuz - Pulanco for the endless support and the love they have had given in the past and until today.

I may not be the showy type of son but I guess the concern and care I always give are worth showing for. Happy Mother's Day Ma! My endless love be with you both!

Summer Must - Have

It's Summer Time once again and the heat is on! This is the season wherein people are out, going to resorts, sun-bathing, beach volleyball, scuba diving, snorkeling, banana boat and a whole lot more. It is also a time wherein skinny ladies are out wearing two piece suit while walking along the whole stretch of the shore. It is not the time as well for people to get into whitening products but into tanning lotion. Just a piece of an advice prior to dwelling into the heat of the summer. Three things to have in mind;

1. Lip Balm - make sure you wear lip balm that has sun screen protection of at least 30. It helps to protect your lips from being chaffed.
2. Lotion - sun screen lotions of at least 45 for the body to help you protect from sun damaging rays.
3. Moisturizer - after exposing yourself from the sun damaging rays, pamper yourself with a moisturizer to help soothe the damage skin and bring back the moisture that was lost.

If you don't feel like being exposed from the heat of the sun; make sure to wear cap or umbrella to protect your entire body from these harmful rays. Still, whether indoor or outdoor always wear a sunscreen lotion/moisturizer to protect your skin. Not to forget drink lots of fluids to keep you hydrated all day and religiously take Vitamin A,C and E.

I have been a gizmo person since I was in grade school. Whenever there are latest gadgets in the market I always bug my dad to buy me this and that. In these recent times, I kinda stop being one for the very reason that I now know how to value hard earned money it's not because of the recent world wide recession but I tend to have second thoughts first prior to acquiring it. Still, once a gizmo always a gizmo and am living with it again. As a debut I'd like to feature one of my expensive possessions - iPhone. From the start, it has been very useful to me. It's like a camera, a phone, a music player, a computer in ONE!. For those who are not savvy, this phone is not for you. Well, if you want one manage to learn the cool features of this phone. I've seen from different news articles regarding upcoming iPhone model which is iPhone 3.0 OS. I just hope and pray that it will be out soon here in the Philippines. If iPhone 3g works perfectly fine with me now? How much more with this latest trend in mobile innovation wherein it allows you to cut,copy and paste, shake to shuffle, wifi auto login and a whole lot more!
